The European Association of Registered Dental Hygienists e.V. (EARDH) is a professional, private, non-profit organization which was founded in April 1998 to provide a means for RDHs and other dental staff members to assemble in a professional meeting for study, continuing education and fellowship. Each Spring the EARDH sponsors a continuing education conference and business meeting.
The EARDH was originally formed to provide a continuing education venue for RDHs working for the US Military Command in Europe and for RDHS employed by civilian European dentists. Continuing education credits (CEU) are approved by the American Academy of Dental Hygiene (AADH). Since its humble beginnings in 1998, membership has grown from 14 RDHs working only for the US Military Command to 50+ members working both for the military and civilian dentists. Membership includes RDHs in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, England, Belgium, Spain and Turkey.
